On December 6, 2024, we had the pleasure of hosting the Competence Center for Materials and Processes (MaP) Doctoral School Small Track. Doctoral students and postdocs, primarily from the Zurich campus, visited to explore our new D-BSSE building and connect with two MaP research groups here.

The day began with a warm welcome over coffee and Grättimaa, the traditional sweet bread for St. Nicholas Day. Prof. Petra Dittrich then provided an insightful presentation about the building's development and an overview of our research. This was followed by a guided lab tour, where visitors explored our cutting-edge facilities. After lunch, the group got to further explore the lab and reserach of our neighboring group led by Prof. Andreas Hierlemann.

To round off the day, we enjoyed a guided tour of Basel’s historic old town, soaking in its cultural and architectural highlights. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this day so memorable. It was wonderful to make new connections, strengthen collaborations, and further promote exchange within the ETH community.
