We develop miniaturized devices (so-called lab-on-chip technology or microfluidics) for applications in the life sciences. In our interdisciplinary approach, we combine chemical, physical, biological and engineering aspects of microfluidics-based technology.
Methods and competences:
Microfluidics: Chip design, microfabrication, integrated components such as valves, multilayer microchips, interfaces, droplet microfluidics, surface patterning.
Cells & Membranes: Cell and liposome analytical screening platforms, cell and vesicle immobilization, single-cell analysis; creation of vesicles.
Detection: Fluorescence spectroscopy and related sensitive techniques such as TIRF and FCS, immunoassays, mass spectrometry.
